Tidal Innovations: Charting the Course for Coastal Urban Sustainability

These cities, situated at the confluences of rivers and oceans, exhibit unique ecological and socioeconomic characteristics. The study introduces the concept of estuarine cities, and defines their attributes in terms of river-sea intersection, land-ocean coordinated development, locational advantages of connecting rivers and seas, and the ecological fragility. This research holds significant implications for the sustainable development of cities worldwide.
