Monica Peek, MD, elected to National Academy of Medicine
University of Chicago Medical CenterRenowned UChicago Medicine health disparities researcher Monica E. Peek, MD, MPH, MsC, was one of 100 people elected to the 2022 class of the National Academy of Medicine, one of the highest honors in the field. Peek, an internist and the Ellen H. Block Professor for Health Justice, was elected for her international leadership in reducing health disparities through research examining how structural racism and the social determinants of health perpetuate disparities in Black communities.
