Newswise — The Boston Business Journal named Babson College a finalist in its 5th annual Healthiest Employers program alongside an impressive group of Boston-area organizations, including Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts and Tufts Health Plan.

The honor hails from Babson’s efforts in maintaining and improving employee health and wellness. Demonstrating these efforts are nearly 200 Babson employees from more than 20 different departments who are currently participating in the College’s ‘100 Days to Commencement Challenge’ – an initiative designed to promote fitness, wellness and a healthy lifestyle among faculty and staff. The program celebrates Babson’s upcoming Commencement by challenging employees to walk more than 100 million steps by May 16, 2015.

Employees are tracking their steps through Walking Works, an online tracking system that allows for a variety of activities, not just walking, to be counted toward their individual and department goals. They also receive a weekly newsletter announcing the top stepping departments on campus, as well as tips for advancing their stepping potential. Top Team prizes will be awarded following Babson Commencement 2015.

The 100 Days to Commencement Challenge is just one of many diverse Be Well@Babson programs offered on campus, including:

• Masters Swim

• Zumba®

• Yoga

• Boot Camp

• Group workout sessions led by @ICWeightlifting, a nonprofit organization founded by Babson graduate Jon Feinman M’10

•‘Come as You Are’ Tai Chi

• Meditation

• And an array of events and seminars promoting healthy lifestyles. For more information, visit http://bit.ly/1zShvl7
