Newswise — Cancer Research Institute (CRI) is proud to announce that it will be participating in the Revlon LOVE IS ON Million Dollar Challenge, which runs now through October 29, 2015.

The Revlon LOVE IS ON Million Dollar Challenge invites charities dedicated to three leading health issues facing women today—heart disease, women’s cancers, and diabetes—to participate in an online fundraising challenge. The charity that raises the most donations for their cause over the course of six weeks will win an additional $1 million donation from Revlon.

The Cancer Research Institute is making an impact on women’s health through its support of research aimed at developing immunotherapies for all cancers, including those that affect women worldwide most, such as breast, lung, and colorectal cancers.

The Revlon LOVE IS ON Million Dollar Challenge kicks off on September 21, when the Cancer Research Institute will begin encouraging its global community to donate and fundraise throughout the six weeks. Supporters of CRI can show their love for this cause in a few ways: directly donating to CRI through the Revlon challenge homepage, setting up a personal fundraising page on CrowdRise and linking to CRI, and encouraging others to join the campaign by sharing on their social media channels.

In addition to the grand prize of $1 million, Revlon will make a $250,000 donation to the runner-up charity. There will also be additional prizes distributed throughout the challenge to add to the excitement of the competition. The winner of the Revlon LOVE IS ON Million Dollar Challenge will be announced later this year.

“The Cancer Research Institute is looking forward to being part of the Revlon LOVE IS ON Million Dollar Challenge, an important campaign to improve women’s health through awareness building and fundraising for worthy causes,” said Jill O’Donnell-Tormey, Ph.D., CRI’s chief executive officer and director of scientific affairs.
