Newswise — PHILADELPHIA (May 1, 2013) – How can sports marketers and franchises create an experience that will truly engage fans, drive fan attendance and loyalty, and enhance opportunities for sponsors to connect with fans and build their brands?

An upcoming conference for sports marketers and sponsors at Saint Joseph's University — They're No. 1, The Live Event Experience: Driving Loyalty and Revenue through Fan Engagement — will demonstrate how area professionals can create an irresistible game-day experience for fans and help attendees discover strategies for creating revenue for their organizations.

The conference will be held on Thursday, May 23, on Saint Joseph's campus from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. A networking and cocktail hour will follow. Speakers and panelists include representatives from the Philadelphia Phillies, 76ers, Eagles, Flyers, Union, Brooklyn Nets, New York Jets, Trenton Thunder, Front Row Marketing, and many more.

“No other business inspires more passion in its consumers than sports,” says John Lord., Ph.D. '71, professor of sports marketing at Saint Joseph's. "There is tremendous opportunity to connect with sports fans on an emotional level through innovative strategies and creative thinking. This conference will give area professionals the necessary tools and skills to engage fans and enhance sponsorship potential."

Officially established as a major in the fall of 2011, Saint Joseph's sports marketing program provides students a rigorous education in the theory and practice of marketing while also offering opportunities for students to have successful careers in the global sports industry.
