The Comprehensive Breast Program at Norris Dartmouth-Hitchcock Norris Cotton Cancer Center offers care that spares as much tissue as possible and has been following the guidelines suggested by SSO and ASTRO for more than two years. “As a comprehensive breast program, we did an evidence based review of our literature 3 years ago and came to the same consensus as these guidelines,” she said. “We have been using the policy of ‘no tumor on ink’ for invasive breast cancer as our margins since that time.”
