Anthony F. Lemieux, associate professor of communication at Georgia State University, is available to discuss CIA Director John Brennan’s defense of his agency following the release of the Senate Intelligence Committee’s executive summary of its report on the CIA’s use of “enhanced interrogation techniques” against terrorism suspects.

Lemieux is the lead researcher at Georgia State's initiative on Trans-Cultural Conflict and Violence, with research supported by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the National Science Foundation.

“Brennan walked the line between taking responsibility for errors, but tried to push back against areas where he said the report had it wrong,” Lemieux said. “He defended the workforce, which I think is overall very important.”

Lemieux is additionally a researcher with the National Center for the Study of Terrorism and Responses to Terrorism at the University of Maryland, and is also an adjunct associate professor with the School of Medicine and Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University in Atlanta.
