A rare and severe respiratory virus has sickened children nationwide and is spreading to new states. A Georgia State University expert is available to discuss this newly-emerging respiratory illness. Dr. Tim Denning, Associate Professor in the Institute for Biomedical Sciences and Center for Inflammation, Immunity and Infection at Georgia State, is an immunologist who specializes in how our bodies respond to infection.

He can discuss how the virus is spreading so quickly, why it is affecting children and how people can protect themselves against it. He can also share information on how it might have originated and its possible impact on the human population. Denning holds a Ph.D. in Microbiology and Immunology from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston.
