Lacy has had a long career in presidential politics. In 2007, he held a leadership role in former Tennessee Sen. Fred Thompson’s presidential exploratory committee. He was also Thompson’s political strategist and campaign manager during his successful 1994 senate run. Lacy formerly was a political strategist for Kansas Sen. Bob Dole and was White House political director for President Ronald Reagan. He has served a role in every presidential campaign from 1980 to 1996.
