Newswise — M. Kelly Carr, Ph.D., is an assistant professor in the School of Communications Design at the University of Baltimore. Her research explores the intersection of public discourse and legal rhetoric. Her latest project is a book manuscript which provides an archivally-sourced examination of the 1978 Regents of the University of California v. Bakke case, explicating the rhetorical invention process of Supreme Court opinion writing, and affirming the status of legal discourse as a form of public address.
