We've all seen the bio-horror movies about how a disease spreads quickly across the world, killing millions of people in its path.

The Ebola crisis has many people on alert, but can the same thing that we see happening in these films occur in reality?

In her 2013 book, “Reel Bio-horror: The Things that Keep Us Up at Night,” Texas Tech law professor Vickie Sutton analyzes 47 films from the subgenre, discusses the psychology, law and science of the bio-horror bio-thriller.

Sutton is director of the Center for Biodefense at the Texas Tech School of Law.
