Newswise — On Tuesday, October 19, from 2 - 3 p.m., the children of Washington School in Schiller Park, IL. will cheer on their fellow schoolmate, fifth grader Daria Twarowski, as she tries to break her own national record on the monkey bars.

Daria outscored 400,000 students in 40 states for the national champ position in 2007 and now, as a fifth grader at Washington, will try and raise the bar to a new level.

Chicago Bulls' mascot, Benny The Bull, along with 250 students, teachers and community members will cheer Daria, and also celebrate the all-school ribbon-cutting ceremony on their new Project Fit America (PFA) fitness equipment. Washington is the ninth recipient of a grant from Gottlieb Memorial Hospital to receive the exercise and education program that teaches and promotes good health.

Daria will demonstrate her winning technique at the ceremony and welcomes all media members to try their hand on the monkey bars with her at Washington Elementary School, 4835 North Michigan AvenueSchiller Park, IL.

PFA, now in their 20th year, is winning the war on childhood obesity - PFA fitness tests show an average increase of 44.9% in upper body strength, 14.7% in abdominal strength and 11.2 % in cardiovascular endurance in participating students.
