Dr. Ronald Matteotti will enhance and expand the program’s minimally invasive surgical capabilities, including robotic approaches to pancreas, colorectal, spleen and upper GI areas. With this new position, Dr. Matteotti plays a vital role in the multi-disciplinary Cancer Care team.

Dr. Matteotti received his M.D. from the Medical School of the University of Basel Switzerland. He completed a Fellowship in Surgical Oncology at Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia, PA; a residency in General Surgery at University Hospital of Cleveland in Cleveland, Ohio; a Clinical Fellowship at Boston Medical Center, Boston, MA; and a research Fellowship at the Minimal Invasive Surgery Center of the Mount Sinai Hospital of New York and Weill-Cornell College of Medicine, New York Presbyterian Hospital, New York.

Dr. Matteotti is a member of numerous prestigious professional organizations, including SAGES-Society of American Gastroenterologist and Endoscopic Surgeons, SSO-Society of Surgical Oncology, ACS-American College of Surgeons, EAES-European Association for Endoscopic Surgeons, and the Swiss Medical Association. He is an accomplished researcher and academic physician and serves as editor-in-chief for the Annals of Surgical Innovation and Research, and as an editorial board member of the Journal of Surgery and Transplantation Science. Dr. Matteotti also authored a landmark book in his field of expertise entitled Minimally Invasive Surgical Oncology-State of the Art Cancer Management, which received worldwide recognition.
