In the wake of the King v. Burwell Supreme Court ruling upholding insurance subsidies under the Affordable Care Act, attention can turn back to other provisions of the law, and its long-term implications for the insured and uninsured alike.

John Z. Ayanian, M.D., MPP, director of the University of Michigan Institute for Healthcare Policy and Innovation, is available to comment on many aspects of the ACA's insurance provisions, and their implications for public health.

A longtime researcher on disparities and on the impact of insurance coverage on health behaviors and outcomes, Dr. Ayanian heads an institute that brings together more than 460 Michigan faculty who study health care delivery, safety, economics and policy. He also heads the team that holds the state contract to evaluate the state of Michigan's expansion of Medicaid, called the Healthy Michigan Plan.
