The kidnapping of hundreds of schoolgirls in Nigeria has the international community horrified and scrambling to find a way to rescue them. Valerie Hudson, a professor of political science at Texas A&M University’s Bush School of Government and Public Service has long studied the treatment of women around the world and her research has shown that countries with high levels of violence against women and girls are more likely to suffer from instability and conflict. Ms. Hudson is available for comment on the Nigerian kidnapping crisis.
