Raffles Medical Group, the largest private group practice in Singapore, is the first health care organization in Asia to join the network. The formal agreement gives Raffles Medical Group access to the latest Mayo Clinic knowledge and promotes physician collaboration that complements local expertise. Through shared resources, more patients can get answers to complex medical questions while staying close to home. “Our patients have always looked to Raffles to provide them with quality care,” says Dr. Donald Poon, general manager, RafflesHospital. “We share a commitment to enhance care and add value for patients, which has become increasingly important in a changing health care landscape. By working with Mayo Clinic, we will be in an even stronger position to deliver high-quality, best-practice care. This is especially true for both our Centres of Excellence – Raffles Heart Centre and Raffles Cancer Centre.” “We are pleased to welcome Raffles Medical Group to the network,” says David Hayes, M.D., medical director, Mayo Clinic Care Network. “As we have worked together toward today’s announcement, we have been impressed by the cultural alignment of our two institutions. Raffles continues to raise the bar on the ways in which an integrated, team-based approach can be used to meet the needs of its patients, and we’re very proud of our shared purpose — to bring the highest quality patient care to the region." As a member of the Mayo Clinic Care Network, Raffles Medical Group will work with Mayo to share medical knowledge and collaborate in ways that will benefit patients and their communities. Network tools and services include: • eConsults that allow Raffles Medical Group physicians to connect electronically with Mayo specialists and subspecialists when they want additional input on a patient’s care. • AskMayoExpert that provides Raffles Medical Group with point-of-care Mayo-vetted information on disease management, care guidelines, treatment recommendations and reference materials for a variety of medical conditions. • eTumor Board Conferences that allow Raffles Medical Group physicians to present and discuss management of complex cancer cases with a multidisciplinary panel of Mayo Clinic specialists and other network members. Raffles Medical Group providers also will be able to consult with Mayo Clinic on operational and business processes, access Mayo’s extensive library of patient education materials and view archived grand rounds presentations that feature presentations by Mayo physicians and scientists. Founded in 1976 with two clinics, Raffles Medical Group has grown to become a fully integrated health care organization with nearly 80 clinics across Singapore and medical centers in Hong Kong and Shanghai. Raffles also manages the airport clinics at Changi International Airport in Singapore and Chek Lap Kok International Airport in Hong Kong. Members of the Mayo Clinic Care Network remain independent, but share Mayo’s commitment to improve the quality and delivery of health care. The network, launched in 2011, now has more than 30 members based in 20 states, Puerto Rico, Mexico and Singapore. ### About Raffles Medical Group Founded in 1976, Raffles Medical Group serves more than 2 million patients annually and over 6,500 corporate clients.
