Newswise — NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. - Connexient and Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital (RWJUH) announced this week the public launch of MediNav™ Navigator Edition 2.0. This makes RWJUH the first hospital in North America to deliver for its patients, visitors and staff the world's first true turn-by-turn indoor navigation smartphone application, with reliable indoor positioning accuracy of one to two meters.

MediNavTM is now available on the App Store and Google Play as the RWJUH Find Your Way Mobile Application.

In addition RWJUH has deployed MediNavTM iPad Kiosks in its lobby and will be adding the Web site version later this summer.

Powered by Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) Beacons and sophisticated handset sensor fusion technology, MediNavTM Navigator v. 2.0 is the most advanced indoor navigation application available, with rich features that users have come to expect from Google or Apple in the “outdoor” world, including robust, reliable indoor positioning with 1 – 2 meter accuracy and true turn-by-turn indoor navigation with camera positioning driven by location and direction, dynamic navigation prompts with visual landmark references, and more.

“We are thrilled to reach this important milestone and launch with Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital,” commented Mark Green, Connexient CEO and co-founder. “They have been a fantastic partner and collaborator in realizing the vision of true indoor navigation and how it can improve the Patient Experience. Even more exciting is their commitment to the continued evolution and application of our platform for Indoor Location-based Services to solve problems and bring ROI to the enterprise as a whole.”
