Jessica Spaccio, a climatologist with the NOAA-funded Northeast Regional Climate Center at Cornell University, says while warmer temperatures are in the forecast, colder than normal temperatures will continue through April.

Spaccio says:

“The forecast for this weekend and early next week does look nice. We might reach our first 60 degrees of the year! But I’m not sure if it’s here to stay.

“While we are seeing some nice temperatures in the forecast, the eight to 14 day outlook is showing all of New York in below normal temperatures, and the April outlook also shows below normal temperatures.

“The good news is that ‘normal’ is warming as we get farther into spring, so by the end of the month a below normal day could still be in the 50s.”
