Creighton University Professor Jay Leighter, director of Creighton’s Sustainability Studies program, is available to provide an on-the-ground perspective of how local Nebraska communities view the Keystone XL Pipeline as part of a larger conversation about environmental concerns. As a researcher, Leighter has been involved in rural areas of central Nebraska studying how communities make decisions about environmental and sustainability issues. Leighter can provide greater understanding to the disconnect between local pipeline perceptions and the symbolic national political battle over the project.
