Hossein G. Askari, Iran Professor of International Business and International Affairs, specializes in Islamic economics and finance. Dr. Askari can address the situation as it relates to economics, oil, internal politics, sectarianism and relations with Iran.



Stephen Biddle, professor of political science and international affairs, is an expert on U.S. national security policy, military strategy and the conduct of war, technology in modern warfare and recent operations in the war on terror. Dr. Biddle served on General David Petraeus' Joint Strategic Assessment Team in Baghdad in 2007; on General Stanley McChrystal's Initial Strategic Assessment Team in Kabul in 2009; and as a senior advisor to General Petraeus' Central Command Assessment Team in Washington, D.C., in 2008-09.



James Lebovic, professor of political science and international affairs, is an expert on military spending, deterrence, arms control, weapons acquisition, the arms trade, foreign aid and international conflict. Dr. Lebovic is available to provide context and analysis of the evolving situation.



Peter Raven-Hansen, Glen Earl Weston Research Professor of Law, is an expert on national security and counter terrorism law. Mr. Raven-Hansen can provide commentary on the legality of war and the president’s war powers.



Judith S. Yaphe, professorial lecturer in the Elliott School of International Affairs, specializes in Iraq, Iran and Arabian/Persian Gulf security issues and political Islam/Islamic extremism. Dr. Yaphe is an expert on Iraqi Kurds and can comment on religious divisions in the country.
