Newswise — Tom Buckley is an assistant professor of Kinesiology & Applied Physiology at the University of Delaware. His main field of study is football-focused concussion/head impact, and he is providing research to the landmark NCAA/Department of Defense CARE Grand Alliance study, a longitudinal study to enhance the study of athletes and service members. He works hand-in-hand with UD's Division I football team. In addition to the long-term effects of concussion, he investigates concussion management, how concussions impact gait, sideline evaluation, and concussion education.

A recent study by Buckley found that those with previous concussions experienced subtle impairments in posture while walking, which could be an early indicator of future neurological deficiencies.
