Newswise — Mary E. Stuckey, an expert in political communications and rhetoric, is available to discuss campaign speeches and rhetoric as the candidates for the Republican presidential nomination compete in the Iowa Republican Caucus Feb. 1.

Stuckey, professor of communication and political science at Georgia State University, is the author, editor, or co-editor of 12 books and author or co-author of about 70 essays and book chapters.

Her books include insights into the rhetoric of Ronald Reagan, both before and during his presidency; Jimmy Carter, human rights and the national agenda; as well as the book The Good Neighbor: Franklin D. Roosevelt and the Rhetoric of American Power that received the Roderick P. Hart Outstanding Book Award, Political Communication Division, of the National Communication Association in 2014.

Stuckey additionally has two forthcoming works, including a book about Franklin D. Roosevelt and the 1936 presidential campaign.

She holds both a Ph.D. and a Master of Arts degree from Notre Dame University, and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California-Davis.
