With Delphi and Mobileye partnering to develop autonomous vehicle technology, a researcher in artificial intelligence says that more development can only benefit the future of the self-driving industry.

“Autonomous vehicles can be programmed with the experience of every driver rather than just one. These cars will never drive impaired or distracted, and they have complete knowledge of their surroundings and can react significantly faster,” says Kevin McFall, assistant professor of mechatronics engineering at Kennesaw State University. “Self-driving behaviors are only as good as their programs, and human drivers are only as good as their own experiences.”
