Newswise — WASHINGTON (August 29, 2016) — As Zika continues to dominate news headlines and political discussions, the O’Neill Institute for National and Global Health Law Colloquium hosts “Zika Virus: Our Common Future,” a panel discussion led by Anthony Fauci, MD, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.
The panel will discuss the emergence of Zika and its profound impact nationally and globally, including on pregnant women and their babies. Among the issues to be addressed: NIH research on vaccines and treatments, funding and action for Zika prevention and control, and the World Health Organization’s declaration of Zika as an Public Health Emergency of International Concern.
