Newswise offers PIOnet as a forum for the discussion of professional issues related to media relations programs for public information officers (PIO) at higher education and research institutions around the globe. PIOnet is an Internet listserve, which is a method for carrying on an electronic conversation via email with a registered group. Media relations personnel for higher education and research institutions are invited to participate with their peers in PIOnet.
Last updated 7-29-08; PIOnet now has 989 members, representing 684 institutions and at least eleven countries (Australia, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Ecuador, Egypt, Ireland, Israel, Switzerland, United Kingdom, and USA). We have been networking here since 1994 and have developed a very professional culture. Please invite new members to join us here.
From March 2004 through December 2006, the PIOnet Newsletter was issued monthly to support media relations' vital role in integrated marketing for institutions. This role is not always adequately recognized, understood, or acknowledged. Our goal is to give you data, arguments, evidence, and ideas to enhance the understanding of and appreciation for media relations at your institution. The sidebar on the right provides access to the newsletter archive.
PIOnet is sponsored by Newswise for the higher education communications community. If you have suggestions, contact Andy Roy at Newswise.
