Newswise — CHICAGO – The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics recently won two AVA Digital Awards and one honorable mention for its communications efforts. The awards recognize outstanding work in the planning, concept, direction, design and production of digital communication.
The 2019 AVA Digital Awards international competition is administered and judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals. The judges seek companies and individuals whose talents exceed a high standard of excellence and whose work serves as a benchmark for the industry.
“The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics is honored to be recognized for our work engaging our members while promoting the value of good nutrition to the public,” said registered dietitian nutritionist and Academy President Mary Russell. “The Academy’s digital communication efforts are only some of the many ways the Academy strives to improve the nation’s health and advance the nutrition and dietetics profession. This award encourages us to continue seeking innovative methods to spread our messages to individuals, families and communities.”
The Academy won the following awards:
- Platinum Award, the competition’s top honor: 2018 National Nutrition Month® Social Media Campaign.
- Gold Award: “Feeling the Food Connection” video for the Opening Session of the Academy’s 2018 Food and Nutrition Conference & Expo™, which highlights Academy members who are making a difference in their communities.
- Honorable Mention: Licensure Statues and Information by State, an interactive map to help Academy members to find information about licensure boards, statutes and rules as well as the type and nature of dietetics regulations in each state.
The annual AVA competition recognizes work that includes digital engagement campaigns, audio and video production, website development, social media interaction and mobile marketing. There were 2,500 entries from around the world. Winners were selected from more than 200 categories in audio, video and web-based production.
