Newswise — Holmdel, NJ – August 22, 2014 – Bayshore Community Hospital Foundation invites the community to its sixth Annual Wine and Spirits Tasting fundraiser on Thursday, September 4, 2014 from 6:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. at the stunning Addison Park in Aberdeen, N.J. to benefit Bayshore’s cardiovascular program.

A part of Meridian Cardiovascular Network, the heart of Bayshore continues to grow with plans to unveil two new heart and vascular labs that will have the capability to perform complex endovascular, cardiovascular intervention, and interventional radiology procedures. Over the past year, Bayshore received approval from the Department of Health as a Primary Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) Hospital, to provide emergency angioplasty procedures on patients suffering from a heart attack. Additionally, Bayshore, along with the other four hospitals of Meridian Health, became an Accredited Chest Pain Center, making Meridian Health the first system in New Jersey to achieve this status.

“Bayshore has made incredible progress in a number of areas over the past few years,” says Timothy J. Hogan, regional hospital president, Monmouth County. “The cardiovascular program is at the heart of this growth as a signature service for the hospital and the cornerstone of Bayshore’s future.”

“Events such as this one are critical to fund new technologies and programs for the communities we serve,” says Joseph E. Stampe, president of the Meridian Health Affiliated Foundations. “The continued support of this community will be vital as Bayshore continues to grow its services in both breadth and depth.”

This year’s event will feature premium wines from around the globe, as well as international beers and spirits. A very special silent auction features a reservation at the world famous restaurant Rao’s. Widely known as America's toughest reservation, outsiders rarely get to dine at this East Harlem treasure, but guests of the Sixth Annual Wine Tasting will have a chance to win this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Cocktails will be accompanied by an extensive array of hors d’oeuvres that are sure to rouse the gastronome in everyone. The event’s steadfast co-chairs, Fern and Peter Esposito have once again graciously offered their time to organize this event.

"Our goal is to continually increase the support we provide to the hospital through this popular event, ultimately benefiting Bayshore’s cardiovascular program,” says Fern Esposito. “Special thanks to the Scaduto and Azzolina families of Spirits Unlimited and Food Circus Foodtown for once again facilitating the acquisition of many of the wines and spirits to be featured this evening.”
