GJ 1132b is only 39 light years away. That's nearly a neighbor on the cosmic scale. It may be the closest Earth-size planet we've discovered. However, it most likely resembles Venus as far as surface temperatures. Scientists believe it may be too hot to support life, but cool enough to hold an atmosphere.
