In a 5-4 ruling Tuesday, the Supreme Court upheld President Donald Trump’s third travel ban, which restricts travel from Iran, Libya, Syria, Yemen, Somalia, Venezuela and North Korea. The court found sufficient national security justification and ruled the policy to be within the scope of presidential authority under the Immigration and Nationality Act. Suzette Malveaux, is Provost Professor of Law and Director of the Byron R. White Center for the Study of American Constitutional Law.
