Newswise — The Association of Applied Psychophysiology and Biofeedback (AAPB) is pleased to announce the addition of Larry Dossey, MD to its distinguished speaker list for its upcoming Annual Conference. The Conference will be held on April 1-4, 2009 at the Hyatt Regency Albuquerque Hotel in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Dr. Dossey will be joining keynote speaker, Rustum Roy, PhD, visiting professor in materials science at Arizona State University and in medicine at the University of Arizona, for a town hall-style open discussion following Dr. Roy's keynote address on Thursday evening, April 2, 2009. Dr. Roy's address will run from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM; the town hall session with Drs. Dossey and Roy will run from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM.
AAPB will be celebrating its 40th anniversary with the conference themes "AAPB 2009: 40 Years of Promoting Whole Person Health." The addition of Dr. Dossey to this session is a perfect fit. He is deeply rooted in the scientific world, is an internationally influential advocate of the role of the mind in health and the role of spirituality in healthcare. Bringing the experience of a practicing internist and the soul of a poet to the discourse, Dr. Dossey offers panoramic insight into the nature and the future of medicine.
The author of nine books and numerous articles, Dr. Dossey is the former Executive Editor of the peer-reviewed journal Alternative Therapies in Health and Medicine, the most widely subscribed-to journal in its field. The primary quality of all of Dr. Dossey's work is scientific legitimacy, with an insistent focus on "what the data show." As a result, his colleagues in medical schools and hospitals all over the country trust him, honor his message, and continually invite him to share his insights with them.
