Five UAH programs ranked among the nation’s top 25 by NSF

Newswise — The National Science Foundation released their latest survey of federally financed research expenditures, and five programs at The University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) continue to be ranked among the top 25 in the nation. These include the following:

• Aeronautical/Astronautical Engineering (5^th)
• Economics (9^th)
• Computer and Information Sciences (10^th)
• Atmospheric Sciences (11^th)
• Astronomy (21^st)

UAH was also named among the top research universities in the nation for funding from two federal agencies, ranking 11^th for NASA sponsored research and 28^th for Department of Defense (DoD) sponsored research.

In addition to NASA and the DoD, the university performs cutting-edge research for the NSF, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the Department of Energy, and the National Institutes of Health.

UAH is one of America’s premier doctoral-granting, research-intensive universities, and is the anchor tenant of Cummings Research Park, the second-largest university-related research park in the U.S.
