Newswise — In February 2016 the IFCC launched the Foundation for Emerging Nations (FEN) as a charitable trust established in Swiss law. The aim of the FEN is to support programmes that help to improve the quality and delivery of laboratory medicine services, particularly in emerging nations. The aim is achieved through support for educational projects that can deliver measurable results in a short period of time.

The FEN has already funded two projects and entered into partnership with a national society of laboratory medicine to provide training and mentorship to laboratory medicine leaders from emerging nations. Details are available from www.ifccfoundation.org

The expanding work of the FEN depends on being able to raise funds from charitable trusts, companies, societies and individuals. The FEN is interested in collaboration on specific projects and/or developing areas of common interest. The Chair of the Board of Directors, Graham Beastall, will be delighted to discuss possible collaborations. He can be contacted at: [email protected].
