Timothy Kuhner, associate professor of law at Georgia State University, is available to discuss the campaign finance as it relates to elections, the flow of money and impeachment politics. He’s also available to speak about corporate inversions.

His direct contact information is available above for logged-in Newswise-registered reporters.

He says, “We’re at a tipping point: Government doesn’t function, public debate doesn’t function. It’s the laws of the jungle. There’s little independence of mind among parties because they have to please their funders, not their geographic constituents. We’ve been unable to regulate money in politics because the Supreme Court says we can’t.”

Kuhner’s recently released book Capitalism v. Democracy (Stanford University Press 2014) exposes how U.S. Supreme Court case law on money in politics has corrupted politics and markets.

His work has been cited in publications including the Yale Law Journal, Harvard Law Review, Duke Law Journal, New York University Law Review and the American Journal of Comparative Law.

Kuhner, who speaks fluent Spanish, received his J.D. and LL.M., magna cum laude, from Duke University School of Law. He received his A.B., magna cum laude from Bowdoin College.
