Rani Bright, D.O. is an Assistant Professor of Pathology, Microbiology/Immunology and Forensic Medicine. She has taught clinical parasitology, microbiology, infectious disease and public health for nearly 25 years, and can comment on what the Chikungunya virus is, its symptoms and how one can protect him- or herself.

In the past, Bright has commented on infectious diseases such as SARS and swine and avian flu.

Bright has lectured extensively and published several papers on emerging infections and travel medicine. She is a member of the American Society for Microbiology, the Global Health Council and the American College of Physicians.
