Rudolph Matthee, a professor of history at the University of Delaware, can debunk Donald Trump's claim that Iran, as a country, shouted "death to America!" following the signing of the historic nuclear deal in 2015.
“Most Iranians love America as a system and an idea, in part because they loathe their own government," Matthee says.
Matthee adds that, ironically, America currently bears some resemblance to Iran. Both are vibrant countries with dysfunctional governments that often send mixed messages to their people.
