Newswise — Lawrenceville, NJ, USA—January 14, 2020—ISPOR—the professional society for health economics and outcomes research, announced today that Manuel Antonio Espinoza, MD, MSc, PhD has been named editor-in-chief of Value in Health Regional Issues, the official regional journal of the Society.

Dr Espinoza is an associate professor with the Department of Public Health at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile in Santiago, Chile. Prior to his appointment as editor-in-chief for Value in Health Regional Issues, he was serving as an associate editor for Value in Health, the Society’s flagship journal. A longtime active member of ISPOR, Dr Espinoza has held many leadership positions within the Society, including president of the Latin America Consortium, president of the Chilean Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research (ISPOR Chile Chapter), and director on the ISPOR Board of Directors.

In his new role as editor-in chief, Dr Espinoza will be responsible for the content strategy and editorial direction of the journal. He will work with the ISPOR editorial staff and the journal’s 3 deputy editors: Nathorn Chaiyakunapruk, PharmD, PhD, University of Utah [Asia]; Ibrahim Alabbadi, PhD, MBA, BPharm, The University of Jordan [Central and Eastern Europe, Western Asia, and Africa]; and Fernando del la hoz Restrepo, PhD, MD, MSc, Universidad Nacional de Colombia [Latin America].
