Newswise — Autoimmune Related Diseases Association (AARDA) Joins the Global #GivingTuesday Movement. Our financial campaign goal: Raise $5,000 to provide educational programs to people impacted by autoimmune related diseases.

Eastpointe, MI, November 26, 2018 – American Autoimmune Related Diseases Association (AARDA) has joined #GivingTuesday, a global day of giving that harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities and organizations to encourage philanthropy and to celebrate generosity worldwide. Contributions will support AARDA’s educational programs. Occurring this year on November 27, #GivingTuesday is held annually on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving (in the US) and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday to kick off the holiday giving season and inspire people to collaborate in improving their local communities and to give back in impactful ways to the charities and causes they support.

AARDA is excited to join in this global giving movement of #GivingTuesday! The demonstration of giving by so many generous people worldwide will help thousands of individuals and their families receive the education they need to lead to a proper diagnosis and treatment as they fight the battle against autoimmune diseases (ADs).

There are 100+ autoimmune diseases and 50 million Americans are diagnosed annually with at least one AD. With the help of generous people on #GivingTuesday, we want to continue to increase the number of people we impact annually through our educational programs. Your financial gift will reach those impacted with autoimmunity through these important programs :Public Forums & Webinars - featuring professional expertise in dealing with autoimmune disease and educates the audience in the scientific aspects of AD, and living and coping with chronic illnesses. Lunch & Learns - participants learn about possible causes of autoimmune diseases, common autoimmune diseases, facts vs myths about autoimmune diseases and the priority of knowing AD family history. Community Outreach Events - participants learn about autoimmune diseases, autoimmunity and women, how autoimmunity clusters in families, and resources for the autoimmune patient
