Newswise — Baltimore, MD - Barry Jay Eisenberg, FACHE, LNHA, has been named the new executive director and chief operating officer of Post-Acute Services at LifeBridge Health. Eisenberg brings decades of proven expertise and forward thinking to one of Baltimore’s most progressive leaders in the post-acute care arena. Eisenberg will lead the entire 440-bed post-acute division, which spans across two hospital campuses and includes long-term care, behavioral health, chronic hospitals and skilled nursing home beds as well as outpatient day treatments.
The flagship of LifeBridge Health’s post-acute division is Levindale Hebrew Geriatric Center and Hospital. With a total of 338 beds, Levindale has been on the forefront of sub-acute medical hospital services for more than 120 years and is known for delivering high quality eldercare in a less traditional, more compassionate and respectful hospital setting. Utilizing the Eden Alternative model, Levindale’s care focuses on encouraging and promoting empowerment, companionship, and spontaneity in its residents. Eisenberg will oversee the sub-acute unit at Northwest Hospital and long-term care at Courtland Gardens Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

Eisenberg is a licensed nursing home administrator and a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives. He most recently served as the administrator at HRC ManorCare in Silver Spring, MD, where he led his team with long-range planning, business development, operations, financial management, continuous quality improvement and customer service.
Eisenberg earned his Bachelor of Arts and Master of Regional Planning degrees at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. He also attended George Washington University’s School of Business and Public Management.
