Stephen Maren, a noted expert in post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in the Texas A&M University College of Liberal Arts, is available to discuss the recent mass shooting in New Zealand and its aftermath.

Maren is a world-renowned neuroscientist who joined the Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences at Texas A&M in 2012. Maren's research focuses on contextual regulation of memory encoding and retrieval, and fear, anxiety and PTSD. His research team recently identified a new area in the brain involved in inhibiting fear, a discovery that holds potential for clinical interventions in patients with psychiatric diseases like PTSD.

Maren is also a member of the Brain & Behavior Research Foundation's Scientific Council.
