Sarah Gimbel is a nurse epidemiologist, and Associate Professor in the University of Washington School of Nursing with an adjunct appointment in global health. She’s an expert on Mozambique and is available for interviews.
She has worked in Mozambique for 19 years, and 6 years were spent living full time in country where she worked as the HIV/AIDS manager for Health Alliance International, a NGO affiliated with the UW. She was seconded to the Mozambican health department at the provincial level for 4 years and then another 2+ years she was seconded to the central Ministry of Health as an advisor. I
She currently leads or participates in numerous applied research activities in the affected areas ( Sofala and Manica provinces) with funding from the National Institute of Health and the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation.
