Food toxicologist and UC-Davis Professor, Carl Winter, PhD, is available to discuss from a toxicology perspective on whether or not people should be concerned about the new Consumer Reports study out today about arsenic in rice.

Dr. Winter researches the detection of pesticides and naturally-occurring toxins in foods, how to assess their risks and identify how to use the science in the regulatory decision-making process. His most recent work includes looking at the relationships between crop production systems and naturally-occurring toxins. Dr. Winter was recently awarded the Borlaug Council for Agricultural Science and Technology 2012 Communication Award.
