Initiative 732, on the ballot for Washington state voters, would enact an escalating carbon tax on fossil fuels. This measure would create the first-ever carbon tax to be implemented in the U.S.
Nives Dolšak, a professor in the UW's School of Marine and Environmental Affairs, is available to talk about the rationale for the tax and how it compares to other carbon price policy instruments. She can also talk about the politics of taxation and other environmental regulation.
