After eight seasons and 47 Emmy Awards, HBO’s Game of Thrones will air its series finale Sunday night. CU Boulder cinema and media studies experts are available for interviews on the show’s impact on culture and the television industry.

Rick Stevens, associate professor of media studies, watches Game of Thrones and studies public discourse through the lens of popular culture. Stevens can discuss the show’s cultural impact, including the fear of spoilers, representations of women and the show’s standing as one of the last examples of “appointment viewing.”

Ernesto Acevedo-Muñoz, professor of cinema studies, can speak more broadly on the impact of hit shows on streaming platforms. He can answer questions about how many HBO users will cancel their subscriptions after the series ends.
