Newswise — In the wake of Hurricane Katrina, the American Chemical Society has compiled a list of scientific experts who will be available to the media to discuss various aspects of water contamination, chemical safety and the type and extent of disease that could develop. Following is that list.

Dr. Martha Wells, Councilor, ACS Division of Environmental Chemistry and Tennessee Technological University Center for the Management, Utilization & Protection of Water Resources. Expertise: Water contamination issues.

Dr. Jerald Schnoor, editor of the American Chemical Society's peer-reviewed journal, Environmental Science & Technology and professor, Department of Environmental Engineering, University of Iowa. Expertise: Water contamination issues.

Dr. Neal Langerman, Ph.D., Advanced Chemical Safety, San Diego, Calif., former Chair, ACS Division of Chemical Health & Safety. Expertise: Chemical safety response.
