You are cordially invited to attend the grand opening of Nova Southeastern University’s new $40-million Center of Excellence for Coral Reef Ecosystems Research. Dedicated to researching coral reefs and their entire ecosystem, this center will be the largest one of its kind in the United States. Its research will be critical because South Florida accounts for 84 percent of all the coral reefs in the U.S. The reefs help pump $6 billion annually into the local economy and sustain 71,000 jobs in restaurants, hotels, cruise ships, dive shops, etc. Twenty percent of the world’s coral reefs are already gone. Another 50 percent are in danger. Come witness history as this new center opens its doors and launches a global mission to save the world’s reefs. This is a green building that’s energy efficient. More details and photos available upon request.
