Newswise — The 50 million Americans who suffer from autoimmune disease now have the opportunity to get involved and raise research dollars by participating in a Georgia Autoimmune Walk hosted by the American Autoimmune Related Diseases Association (AARDA) and the Vasculitis Foundation. The Walk will be held on Saturday, July 20, at the Mud Creek Soccer Complex located at 5600 Barrett Parkway in Marietta, Georgia. Walkers will meet at 9 a.m.

“After a successful inaugural year of hosting Autoimmune Walks, we decided to keep the momentum going in 2013. The Walks have proven beneficial in communities, those large and small. Those that participate in the Walks come expecting just to walk but they leave with an understanding of not only autoimmune disease but the need for more advocacy and awareness. We are excited to advocate in Georgia,” says Virginia T. Ladd, President and Executive Director of AARDA.
