Newswise — Babson College and the Franklin W. Olin College of Engineering are hosting the Symposium for Engineering Entrepreneurship Educators (SyE3) through Friday, June 15 to educate engineering educators about teaching and applying entrepreneurship theory and practice as an integral part of engineering education.

In an intensive four-day program, participants explore the "art and craft" of teaching and learning entrepreneurship in an engineering context. The program provides an introduction to case-method teaching and other pedagogies tailored to an engineering audience. Attendees are encouraged to identify, plan, and personalize their strategy for integrating entrepreneurship, both content and mind-set, into their engineering curriculum.

Organizers believe that Babson-Olin SyE3 alumni will develop engineering graduates who not only have innovative ideas, but who can successfully transform their innovations into the products, systems, services, and companies that drive economic growth.

Babson College, in partnership with the Franklin W. Olin College of Engineering, received funding by the National Science Foundation in 2004 to launch SyE3. The program builds off of Babson's leading expertise in entrepreneurship education and the success of its Symposia for Entrepreneurship Educators.
