Newswise — For the second year in a row, Babson College is one of the nation’s elite – a top 20 undergraduate business program, according to Bloomberg Businessweek’s 2011 Ranking Of “The Best Undergraduate Business Schools.” Babson is ranked Number 20.

Bloomberg Businessweek ranked 113 colleges that met stringent quality criteria. To identify the best business programs, Bloomberg Businessweek used five measures, including survey responses of more than 28,000 graduating seniors at top schools and a poll of 246 undergraduate recruiters. Bloomberg Businessweek calculated letter grades on teaching quality, facilities and services, and job placement based on the student survey. • Academic Quality – A large component of the ranking is academic quality, which takes into account a broad range of factors--everything from SATs to internship opportunities. On this key component, which accounts for 30% of the ranking, Babson was ranked #7 in the country.

• Student Survey – Student satisfaction accounts for 30% of the ranking. In a year when most schools saw a decline in satisfaction, Babson was 11th in overall student satisfaction. This also included grades such as an A+ in teaching quality, an A in job placement and a B in facilities and services.

“The ranking is another testament to the hard work and dedication of our entire community – students, alumni, faculty, staff, parents, families and friends,” said President Len Schlesinger. “Congratulations and thank you to members of the Babson community for all you have done to help achieve this very special recognition.”

“This year’s ranking demonstrates the strength of Babson’s outstanding faculty and academic programs and the continued momentum of our students’ appreciation for our excellence across campus,” said Dean of the Undergraduate School Dennis Hanno.
