Newswise — This week, Babson College in Wellesley, Mass. USA will meet with its European partner bschools to explore new entrepreneurial models to help family businesses in Europe meet the challenge of expanding social and economic wealth across future generations.

Babson will launch its Successful Transgenerational Entrepreneurship Practices (STEP) Project for Family Enterprising—Building Family Legacies through Growth on July 1-2, 2005 at Bocconi University in Milan, Italy. Thirteen of Europe's elite business management institutions will send more than 30 business academics to Bocconi for the three-day summit to generate thought leadership and develop new research models to help family businesses expand their entrepreneurial capabilities and build a strong legacy for the next generation.

"Our goal is to create an environment for high-level dialogue and discovery in order to launch a leading edge research project that will generate solutions with immediate impact on families," said Timothy G. Habbershon, Director of Babson's Institute for Family Enterprising, who will facilitate the gathering. "Each of the partner schools will conduct research and educational activities in their countries as part of the STEP Project in Europe."
