The Babson School of Executive Education Introduces New Program on Corporate Entrepreneurship

Innovative Curriculum Teaches Executives to Think Like Entrepreneurs

Wellesley, MassÖThe Babson School of Executive Education in Wellesley, Mass., drawing on its expertise in entrepreneurship, will premier The Babson Program on Corporate Entrepreneurship during two, three-day sessions this fall and early next spring. The fall session will be held November 2-4, 1998; the spring session will run March 15-17, 1999.

The executive seminar is designed to teach senior managers principles of en- trepreneurship for use within their companies to help spur revenue growth and identify new business opportunities.

"Babson's goal is to help executives think and act like entrepreneurs to bring added value and new ideas back to their companies," said Robert Halperin, director of the School of Executive Education. "For years, companies focused on cutting costs to improve profitability. Now they must increase revenues to achieve the same results."

The three-day program focuses on key skills and strategies often seen in successful entrepreneurs. Day one examines the manager as entrepreneur and clarifies the difference between a good manager and a good entrepreneur. Attendees also learn how to shape an entrepreneurial organization within a traditional business environment. -more-

Managing the entrepreneurial process to ensure the ultimate success of a project concludes the program on day three. Attendees create an entrepreneurial plan, look at why good ideas fail, and learn to right wrongs when necessary.

The Babson School of Executive Education has applied entrepreneurial principles-opportunity recognition, team development, and resource leveraging-to the corporate environment to help companies develop the right products and services at the right time.
